Zoning Board Sets October Hearing On Demolition Appeal
Zoning Board · Meeting of September 1, 2026
Warren Zoning Board sets October 5 hearing on demolition permit appeal tied to a tree-cutting dispute. The board scheduled a September 22 site visit ahead of the hearing, with town departments given until September 18 to respond to the appeal filed August 19. Clerk Kerry Schmidt asked whether the Conservation Commission had issued "a cease and desist also," which staff confirmed.
A town staffer, Gary, said a prior court matter was "very specific about exactly which trees were going to be cut," citing roughly 21 trees including a white ash. The board also thanked former Chair Richard Czaporowski, said to have relocated to Florida, for his long service. Members noted deed records showing the roughly six-acre parcel sold for about $500,000 in 2020 to prior owner Evan Turner.
The board must decide the appeal by November 27.
