Warren health board adopts body art rules, kitchen permit fees
Board of Health · Meeting of May 20, 2026
Warren Board of Health adopts body art rules, punts on well regulations. The board voted unanimously to approve new tattoo and piercing establishment regulations effective July 1, 2026, after Regional Health Inspector Tessa Obuchowski confirmed record-keeping duties shift to OSHA once a shop closes. Members also approved a leased commercial kitchen permit with fees ranging from $25 to $100 based on vendor count, following the department's first commissary kitchen application from a mobile food cart.
The board declined to change well regulations covering homeowners adding bedrooms, with Obuchowski warning "it's gonna take money away from the town if we're just allowing all these wells," and instead deferred to the water department. Bills and payroll totaling several thousand dollars, including $208.33 monthly stipends for each board member, were approved unanimously.
