Board of Selectmen · Meeting of October 15, 2026

Warren selectmen approved a $50,000 state grant and set up a seven-question nonbinding vote on new police and fire facilities. The Board of Selectmen voted 3-0 to accept the grant from the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the town's zoning bylaw rewrite and signed a companion contract with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission. Most of the meeting focused on the November 19 special town meeting warrant, where voters will weigh in on police stations proposed for Maple Street, Route 19 and the Cornerstone building, a fire station A modification, and public safety complex options at three sites.

One selectman noted a debt exclusion needs only a two-thirds vote, meaning "only 34 percent of the town voting no" could block funding. The board also heard that a boundary survey found a fence encroaching roughly 28 feet onto Senior Center property, and approved $134,847.21 in payroll and other warrants.
