Warren board clears two road drainage projects

Conservation · Meeting of July 8, 2026

Warren Conservation Commission clears two road and drainage projects without requiring full wetlands permits. The board issued negative determinations of applicability for a Hillside Avenue road reconstruction and sidewalk project, the final phase of the town's School Street neighborhood work, and for a design-only drainage and water-line project on Pulaski and Cottage streets near the town's former mill. The engineer presenting both items said the mill-area project would extend public water service to improve fire protection for homes "having issues with their insurance company because they don't have proper fire protection, because their fire protection is based on pumps from the river." The board also continued Notice of Intent hearings for Carl Street and for Cemetery Road and Maple Street to August 12, approved $163 in dues to the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions and $1,237.66 in park-related expenses, and flagged a years-old, unresolved certificate of compliance request tied to a 2002 project, reminding members that unresolved permit liens stay attached to a property through the registry of deeds.
