Warren Select Board Appoints New Police Officer
Select Board · Meeting of July 9, 2026
Warren Select Board hires a veteran officer and unwinds a tax-bill mishap. Police Chief Jerry Munson introduced Ian N. Curtis, appointed full time at Step 5 on the patrolman scale after seven years of policing in four towns and certifications ranging from Crisis Intervention Team to active-shooter response instruction.
Tax Collector Kerry told the board a printing error sent roughly 250 taxpayers, those with surnames from T onward, an outdated preliminary bill, saying "I felt bad that I sent out bills incorrectly" after paying for the corrected mailing's postage herself. The board also voted to shift administrative handling of plumbing and gas inspections from the Board of Health to the building department, approved $21,400 in added engineering costs for the senior center's HVAC project with Tighe & Bond, and switched document-shredding vendors to save about $1,500 a year. Town Administrator Jim scored 206 of 215 points on his annual review.
