Warren Water Commission Approves FY26 Sewer Fee Abatements
Water · Meeting of June 25, 2026
Warren Water Commission approves FY26 sewer fee abatements, weighs plant upgrades. The commission voted unanimously Thursday to sign off on a batch of zero-dollar sewer fee abatement applications for vacant and single-family properties, with one previously flagged property drawing renewed scrutiny over unresolved multi-unit occupancy questions. Plant operator Scott reported the fiscal 2027 purchase-services budget rose to $269,950, up roughly $50,000, and floated a bypass line for the treatment plant's clogged water strainer that could let a pump run at 50 percent instead of 75 percent.
A sewer connection permit application for 109 East Road remains on hold after the applicant's contractor balked at the department's standard insurance requirements. The commission also indicated no objection to a Planning Board special permit for a small home-based meadery, Great Saga's Meadery, at 661 Main Street, noting the site has no town sewer connection to affect.
