Warren Approves Verizon Generator Special Permit
Planning Board · Meeting of June 15, 2026
Warren Planning Board approves Verizon's backup generator, warns a stalled project its permit is about to expire. The board unanimously approved special permit No. 317 and site plan approval No. 74 for a Verizon New England generator at 2252 Main Street, after representative Sam Louis said the unit would run at "68 dBA at 25 feet" with a 72-hour fuel reserve. Sewer Commission Chair Travis Baker pressed the board on a separate, continued residential site plan hearing over who would be responsible for a new sewer line extension.
Members agreed to send a certified letter warning the holder of an expired special permit, referred to as COPAR, that the project lacks "substantial work" needed to avoid cancellation. The board also approved $959.58 in routine bills and set July 20 at 7 p.m. as its next confirmed meeting.
