Board Continues Hearing On Home Meadery Permit
Planning Board · Meeting of July 20, 2026
Warren Planning Board pauses veteran's home meadery permit over bylaw conflict. The board continued Jack Fowler III's special permit hearing for a mead-production business at 661 Main Street to August 24, after the building inspector found the use could violate a general nuisance provision; town counsel KP Law will weigh in first. Neighbor Jeff Edwards called Fowler "a good person" in support.
Separately, regional planner Emily Glovins reported Warren's affordable-housing stock at just 3.38 percent against the state's 10 percent Chapter 40B threshold, with a full Housing Production Plan due spring 2027. The board also granted Cobart of Connecticut a one-year extension on special permit No. 296, continued a Paw Cat Brothers Construction site plan hearing to August 12, and approved $418.59 in accounts payable.
